Toulouse – Paris
With SNCF's Intercités de nuit
Travel route
The night train to Paris departs in the evening from Toulouse-Matabiau. Shortly after leaving Toulouse, the train stops in Montauban, a town in the Tarn-et-Garonne department, around 50 kilometres north of Toulouse. It then continues north overnight without any further stops. After an early morning stop in Orléans, the train arrives at Paris Gare d’Austerlitz.
At weekends and during certain holiday periods, the train also stops at a few additional stations. In the evening, there are extra stops in Caussade, Cahors, Gourdon and Souillac. After that, the train follows its usual route towards Paris.

Compartment
There are three types of compartments to choose from onboard SNCF's night trains (Intercités de nuit).
Seats (2nd class)
Seats are the cheapest option. You spend the night while seated, in a seat that reclines 45 degrees, with individual arm and foot rests. The seats are not in a separate compartment but rather in a large, open car where there are dozens of other seats, similar to a regular train. The toilets are located in the corridor.
Couchettes (2nd class)
2nd class couchettes are compartments for up to 6 people and offer more comfort than seats. During the day you sit in a regular seat. At night you can transform the benches into six individual sleeping berths. Men and women travel mixed, except in the women-only compartment. The toilet and washrooms are located in the corridor. You can also book the entire compartment privately so you don't have to share it with other travelers.
Couchettes (1st class)
1st class couchettes can accommodate up to four persons. During the day you sit in a regular seat. At night you can transform the benches into four individual sleeping berths (two upper, two lower). Men and women travel mixed, except in the women-only compartment. The toilet and washrooms are located in the hallway. You can also book the entire compartment privately so you don't have to share it with other travelers.
Upon arrival in the morning, travellers in first class couchettes have free access to the shower facilities in the stations of Paris Gare d' Austerlitz and Toulouse-Matabiau.
Amenities
All couchette compartments can be locked from the inside and have amenities such as adjustable air conditioning, reading lights and power outlets.
When booking a couchette, each passenger also gets a light sleeping bag, a pillow, a bottle of water and a travel kit with wet wipes, socks and earplugs.
